At this time, I already know that Brilliant Rose is some sort of modified cut. Based on the same budget that I had provided when looking at Destinee, it was only possible to get a diamond in the 0.3 carat range for Brilliant Rose. For a large diamond, the sales executive was recommending some GIA certified range instead since there was a 50% discount on them.

I find that it does not make sense to get the normal GIA certified ones since the prices appear to have been marked up significantly prior to giving the discount. Also, since I am still such an amateur, I will not be able to select the right diamond. If I go for a Brilliant Rose, I will have to settle for a much smaller diamond.

You are right...... this so called 50% sounded very tempting but its like a gimmick..... I bought a Brilliant Rose too and its worth it. Dun care what others have to say just be proud and happy that you have an amazing little diamond which makes you feel really special everyday =)
